We are scholarly (academic) publishers. We publish journals and books. They are written by researchers for researchers to support new research. They are in English, because English is the main language of science today. We publish in the traditional paid-access model, and in the new open access model. All our publications are available online, and most are printed on demand.

Versita was born in 2002 and began with three subscription-based journals in mathematics, physics and chemistry. In 2006 we launched publishing partnership with Springer, the second largest STM publisher in the world, and in 2010 we started similar partnership with de Gruyter, the world’s leading publisher in linguistics, philosophy, theology and religious studies, classical studies and other areas of humanities.

Open Access is the latest significant phenomenon in academic publishing. Readers get free access to scientific journals, and sometimes also books. This trend has triggered our Open Access publishing business. We started with publishing society journals in publisher-pays model. Lately Versita has launched publishing journals in author-pays model, and books in author-pays model. All those publications are available through Versita Open. Almost 200 journals are already available at this site. This makes Versita Open the second largest open access publisher in the world !
