Academic publisher Versita announced today the launch of a new program of Open Access journals. 

Versita is pleased to announce a new publishing partnership - with Danish Society of Forensic Medicine, for the  Scandinavian Journal of Forensic Science.

Versita's Open Access Books program has been endorsed by Professor Vladimir Voevodsky from the Institute for Advanced Studies, Princeton, USA. 

We are pleased to announce that Professor Jules A. Hoffmann, former President of French Academy of Sciences and – jointly with Bruce A. Beutler -  most recent Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries concerning the activation of innate immunity, has joined the Editorial Advisory Board of Versita's newly launched journal Invertebrate Immunity.

Versita's cooperation with Polish Academy of Sciences has entered a new level – the publisher has added 15 new journals to its considerable and high quality collection of other 21 journals of Poland's most prestigious learned society (among them Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences – with the Impact Factor 0,945). The 15 new journals are available online and open access on www.versitaopen.com and span subjects such as: engineering, ecology, geology or arts & humanities.

Versita signs cooperation agreement with Warsaw University of Technology and becomes a distributor of Foundations of Management.  

Nobel Laureate, Professor Kurt Wüthrich, has recently joined Advisory Board of Open Access Books in Life Sciences. 

Following the success of the market entry in the region - another Bulgarian journal joins Versita portfolio as of February 2012.

Nobel Prize Winner Sir Harold Kroto has joined the advisory board of Nanomaterials and the Environment  - a new open access journal to be launched shortly by Versita, in cooperation with researchers from the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology group at the University of Brighton.

De Gruyter, with impressive 260-year history, today publishes over 800 books a year, and over 230 journals and electronic media. 

The 6th Annual Open Knowledge Conference (OKCon) took place on 30th June and 1st July 2011 in Berlin. One of the speakers at the conference was Jacek Ciesielski, General Manager of Versita.

In 2009 De Gruyter and Versita launched a joint co-publishing program aimed at increasing the global exposure of scholarly journals from Central & Eastern Europe. 'Poznan Studies in Contemporary Linguistics' is the first journal to join this high-quality portfolio. Versita and De Gruyter are working to extend their cooperation in Linguistics and other areas.

Springer and Versita have been cooperating in publishing, promotion and distribution of scientific journals from Central Europe since 2006. Recently, the Springer/Versita portfolio has been expanded by the addition of another Slovak publication. Currently five Slovak journals are published in the Springer/Versita program, all of which are owned by the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

Springer and Versita have announced a new addition to their co-publishing program – Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis is the first Bulgarian journal to join the program. Springer and Versita currently co-publish 24 scholarly journals across a range of disciplines. Since the aim of the partnership is to promote the research from Central Europe on a global level, the Bulgarian journal is an important addition to the portfolio.

Two new European markets will be covered by Versita and Versita Open publishing services. Market Entry Events took place last week in Hungary and Bulgaria. 

Polish Academy of Sciences will publish their journals with Versita.

Versita today announced the launch of Versita Open, where publishers of scholarly journals can choose an open access model and services that best serve their needs. Versita Open has already attracted over 200 journals across numerous disciplines and expects to publish 500 journals in the near future.

Versita has become a member of Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and UK Serials Group (UKSG). Versita already belongs to ALPSP and to the International Association of STM Publishers.
