For readers the journal will position itself as the central and most authoritative publication in addiction genetics. The topic covers a wide range of issues that are of contemporary interest to research, bio-industrial, marketing groups, government bodies and even the general public. The Open Access model allows ready access to its target audience and the peer-review system together with the outstanding scientists of the Advisory Board, ensures that quality is maintained throughout.

In the initial period, the journal will attract authors by fast and comprehensive peer-review. In the near future, it will attract by the growing reputation as the central publication in addiction genetics seeking distinguished scientists focused on the development of quality research. From the beginning, it will also have prominent scholars in its Advisory Board who will actively engage in the promotion of AG and establish opportunities to integrate with the latest results being disseminated at conferences around the globe. It is envisaged that ultimately AG will be used as a resource by diverse interest groups of high reputation and distinction.

The goal of the journal is to be the first and the main publishing option for authors writing on genetic, epigenetic or genetic variants of genes revealing broad aspects of addictive disorders, and a hub integrating the relevant research community.
