Authors

Instructions for Authors

Articles accepted for publication in Acta Electrotechnica et Informatica journal must be authorised and previously in journals unpublished scientific and professional articles. Contributions shall be submitted in the English language. The text of the article must be in A4 format, edited according to the specimen article that can be found on the web-site: http://www.aei.tuke.sk, and this shall be submitted in one hard copy and in electronic form. Also submitted on a designated form must be authorization of the Acta Electrotechnica et Informatica editorial board for publishing the article duly signed by all article authors. We strongly encourage the authors to prepare their papers as “compuscripts” preferably using LaTeX. Using MS Word text editor for writing is accepted. The article shall be at least 4 pages long and shall not exceed 8 pages in the designated format. Articles must be written using Times New Roman 10 point with single line spacing in 2 columns format. Upper margin must be set to 25 mm, lower, left and right margins to 15 mm. “Mirrored margins” must be selected, while the margin in “Gutter“ selection must be set to 10 mm. The distance between the header and the sheet margin must be 12.5 mm, while “Different odd and even” must be selected. The distance between the footer and the sheet margin must be 10 mm The first line of each paragraph must be indented by 5 mm.

The quality of articles will be assessed by the editorial board based on two reviewers’ opinions that will remain anonymous to the article’s author/s. The linguistic accuracy of the articles is the full responsibility of the author/s.

Articles must have the following specified layout and also be in the following detailed format:

1.The article title must be in 12 points bold capital letters, and aligned to the center of the page.

2. Following the title shall be two blank lines of 10 points single line spacing.

3. The name/s of the author/s will appear in plain 10 point font and will be aligned to the center. The first (given) name must be in small, and the surnames in capital “normal” letters. With multiple authors from various work-sites each name must be marked by an asterisk (*– upper index) after his/her name. Particulars about individual authors shall be typed in identical lettering. No asterisk references will be made if the author is a single person or if the multiple authors are from an identical work-site.

4. Include the following data about the author: address of the work-site, phone number or E-mail address. These data are to be stated right below the line containing the name/s of the author/s. With authors from various work-sites these data will be preceded by an asterisk (*– upper index), and individual particulars will be assigned per the number of asterisks referring to authors from common work-site/s. No asterisk reference to the particulars about an author is necessary if there is a single author or if multiple authors come from a common work-site. These referenced particulars must be in “Normal” 9 points font. The author/s data shall be stated in English.

5. Following the “data on author/s” will be two 10 points single-spaced blank lines.

6. The article abstract is limited to about 10 lines typed in 9 points italic letters. The title ABSTRACT will be in 9 points bold capitals aligned to the center. The abstract text will be single spaced.

7. Following the abstract will be a single 10 points blank line.

8. Keywords should not exceed 6 items and must be in 9 points Italics. These must be introduced by the subtitle Keywords: written in 10 points bold Italics at the beginning of the line.

9. Keywords will be followed by two 10 points single-spaced blank lines.

10. The article text will be presented in 2 columns format with 83 mm column width and 4 mm empty space separating the columns. This should include an introduction, characteristics of the issue being treated or methodology, new pieces of knowledge gained, discussion, conclusion and biographical data about the author/s.

11. Vector graphics shall be provided preferably in EPS format. Raster images are to be gray-scale and saved in TIFF format. JPEG compression is acceptable for photographs.

12. Figures must be included in the text, duly numbered. A blank line must be inserted above and below each figure. Figures must be identified as “Fig. 1” followed by two blank spaces and by the figure description using 9 points letters. Abbreviations Fig. and figure sequence numbers will be in bold. Caption should be typed below the figure and aligned to the center of the column.

13. Graphs must be included in the text, duly numbered. A blank line must be inserted above and below each graph. Graphs must be identified as “Graph 1” followed by two blank spaces and by the figure description using 9 points letters. Graph and graph sequence numbers will be in bold. Caption should be typed above the graph and aligned to the center of the column.

14. Tables must be included in the text, duly numbered. A blank line must be inserted above and below each table.

15. Tables must be identified as “Table 1” followed by two blank spaces and by the table description using 9 points letters. The word Table and table sequence numbers will be in bold letters. Caption should be typed above the table and aligned to the center of the column.

16. In case of using MS Word, equations must be typed in Microsoft Equation, which is an integral part of MS Word text editor. They must be aligned to the left and numbered, when individual numbers are to be enclosed in parentheses and written in “normal” letters and aligned to the right hand side of the column. Math symbols in the text are also to be written using the equation editor.

17. The main chapter headings should be numbered with full stop between the number and the title. Headigs must be entered in 10 points bold capital letters and aligned to the left. The title should be indented 5 mm. In case of multi–line titles the title second line must also be indented. A blank line is to be inserted both above and below the title line.

18. Subheadings should be in multi-level numbering written in small bold 10 points letters and aligned to the left. The first letter of a title must be a capital letter. The subtitle should be indented 75 mm. A blank line is to be inserted both above and below the title line.

19. A list of references should be arranged according to the order of citing in accordance with the specimen article obtainable from the redaction web-site http://www.aei.tuke.sk. The title of this chapter is not to be numbered.

20. A short curriculum vitae of the author/s should be a maximum of 10 lines, in 10 points letters. Two blank lines should be inserted above the title of this part.
