Instructions to Authors

  1. The Editors welcome submission of materials for consideration. Manuscripts should be sent to Audrius Banaitis, Department of Construction Economics and Property Management, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Sauletekio al. 11, LT-10223 Vilnius, Lithuania ( E-mail: Audrius.Banaitis@st.vgtu.lt ). North American authors should send their manuscripts to the North American Editor, James E. Larsen, Department of Finance and Financial Services, Raj Soin College of Business, Dayton, Ohio 45435, USA ( E-mail: james.larsen@wright.edu ). Asian and Australasian authors should send their manuscripts to the Asian and Australasian Editor, Eddie Chi-man Hui, Department of Building and Real Estate, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Hong Kong, China ( E-mail: bscmhui@inet.polyu.edu.hk ). Electronic submissions are encouraged. Submission to the International Journal of Strategic Property Management implies that the paper is not submitted to any other journal at the same time. The paper shall be refereed by at least two independent referees.
  2. There is no strict length limitation on submitted manuscripts but they will normally be expected to fall within the range of 5000-8000 words. Manuscripts should be written in English. Authors are encouraged to obtain assistance in the editing of their papers for proper use of English prior to submission. Manuscripts must be typed on one side of the paper in one-and-a-half line spacing throughout, with wide margins. Pages should be numbered consecutively.
  3. A title page should be supplied bearing the title of the paper, the names and addresses of the authors, and the name and full postal address of the author to whom correspondence is to be directed. E-mail address should also be provided. The authors’ names and addresses should not appear in the body of the manuscript, to preserve anonymity.
  4. An abstract should be given with every article. It should be self-contained and understandable by the general International Journal of Strategic Property Management reader outside the context of the article. It should be free from formulae, acronyms and references. It should be specific and between 100 and 150 words of length.
  5. Keywords must be included. Total number of keywords should not exceed five.
  6. Sections should be decimally numbered. Titles should be specific, except "Introduction" and "Conclusions".
  7. Paragraphs should be indented in the manuscript to avoid ambiguities when a line ends on a full stop.
  8. Tables hardly ever need vertical lines. They should be numbered consecutively and have a self-explanatory title. In designing tables please take the column and page width of International Journal of Strategic Property Management into account.
  9. Figures should be numbered consecutively and have a self-explanatory caption. Except for a reduction in size, they will appear in the final printing in exactly the same form as submitted by the author.
  10. Formulae should normally be displayed on a separate line and numbered, if referred to, in parentheses on the right. They should be typed. If this is impossible and handwritten symbols are used, these should be listed separately. Keep formulae as simple as possible.
  11. Papers must be written without the use of footnotes.
  12. References should only be made to literature with which there is a direct and important interface. The ISI citations are a must for all contributors (please, refer to http://scientific.thomsonreuters.com/). The Harvard system is used. References in the text are indicated by author’s name and year of publication in parentheses, e.g. Ventovuori (2006) or (Lavy and Shohet, 2007) or if there are more than two authors, Leung et al. (2006). References should be collected at the end of the paper in alphabetical order by the first author’s surname. If references to the same author have the same year, they should be differentiated by using 2008a and 2008b etc. The style should follow the examples below: Leung, M.-Y., Chan, J.K.W. and Wang, Z.
