Studies for the Learning Society is the official journal of the Baltic Region Association for Research in Adult Education (BARAE). Studies for the Learning Society aims to publish articles on general and problematic issues of adult education, education for adults and adult learning in Baltic Sea region. Studies for the Learning Society focuses on current tendencies and problematic issues, research, policies, strategy and innovations in adult learning and education and continuing professional education. The journal serves as an international forum for stimulating research and discussion among researchers and educators who seek to challenge existing boundaries in the field. 

 

Journal Studies for the Learning Society publishes papers focusing on following issues:

  • Aims, objectives, and characteristics, curriculum, also tendencies and problematic issues of adult education and learning in Baltic Sea region;
  • Development of formal, non-formal and in-formal education systems, also, legal issues, policies and strategies in adult also higher education; 
  • Issues of focused research in education and learning; 
  • Issues of sustainable development, development of civil society and culture, also, intercultural education;
  • Issues of educating of adults with special needs;
  • Issues of quality of learning and education of adults in Baltic region; 
  • Issues of higher education, learning and teaching at the university
